Tun Dr. Mahatir quits UMNO

Our ex-Prime Minister left the Government party (UMNO) yesterday causing ciaos in the nation. Tun Dr. Mahatir is always a bold and outspoken political figure in Malaysia. Even after he stepped down from his post as Prime Minister and UMNO chairperson, his words and actions still does impact to the people. Since the last national election, he has been criticizing the current Prime Minister Dato' Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, asking him to step down from his Prime Minister role and quit his post in the Government party. Now that he is no longer a person in power, he have no more control on the politics in the country. You can see for yourself all the reports in the Malaysian mainstream media before and after the general elections. He was continuously bombarded by bad reports on what he said against the Government. Now he decided to quit. According to today's The Star newspaper, quiting the party is the last push to force Abdullah to step down. He is also asking the rest of his supporters to follow him. It was such a joke to see that the UMNO politicians gelabah during an interview session in the TV3 nightline few minutes ago. Sigh.. what is going to happen to this country. Seems like the whole Malaysian political scene has turn into a series of Desperate Housewife drama.
