My rats are getting older. They are not as active as before. They sleep almost for the whole day now. I used to see them playing in their cage, climbing up and down and looking out from the cage and listen when I speak. They are turning 2 years old in a few months times. They only can live up to 3 years or maybe less. They are my best-est friends ever and I haven't been treating them the best. When I'm sad and lonely, they will always be there for me, but I on the other hand, neglect them most of the time, even if their eyes tell me that they just want to spend more time with me. I am afraid the day when they will leave me comes. I want to treat them better.. treat them best. I need more time.

Learn from the past and leave it behind. Choose and do what u want to do now, and dun regret it in the future. The most important thing is what is in present.
Haha... sorry I have no pity. Maybe your rats have dementia (age-related) by now and doesn't know what's happening around them already. Glad you know the reality that they have short lifespan and the time will come.
Nah.. my mistake. They are actually still as active as before. Just that they sleep during day time and active at night. There were records showing that nowadays, pet rats can actually live up to 6 years. I hope my rats are like that too..
